Rooms

Recently refitted to a very high standard, the rooms and suites at the Hotel Calheta Beach are now even more attractive and comfortable. The style is refined and contemporary, lit up, especially in the abundant sunlight the hotel enjoys, with vivid modern colours such as purples, greens, reds and blues in various pastel shades.

All the rooms, suites and apartments sport a furnished balcony with superb views over the ocean or towards the mountains. They all have air conditioning, satellite and cable television with 34 channels, wireless internet (extra charge), electronic locks, direct dial telephones and fully equipped bathrooms with hairdryers.

The suites are large (60 sq. m), with a separate living room and a comfortable sofa, table and mini bar. The large apartments are equipped with a kitchenette, having large areas they are ideal for families. Some of these apartments are located in the annex to the hotel.

Restaurants & Bars

The Hotel Calheta Beach offers various options in restaurants and bars. At the Calheta Restaurant guests enjoy delicious buffets with many local specialities. If you prefer your meal à la carte, visit the Onda Azul Restaurant, where the natural richness of Madeira is given full expression in the dishes such as tuna steak marinated in wine and garlic, the surprising but excellent combination of black scabbard fish with banana and espetada, or meat roasted on a spit.

At the Rabaçal Bar, on the ground floor and overlooking the outside pool, live music is performed many nights, providing a great atmosphere to enjoy good company and maybe a cocktail, like the specially created “Calheta Beach”. At other times it is ideal for restful moments, such as reading. The Pôr do Sol (“Sunset”) Bar is ideally located to enjoy the sun, especially at sunset and the magnificent views over the beach and ocean. It is located outside the hotel building next to the children’s pool. Enjoy a drink here before your dinner, or even a light meal, such as a sandwich, salad or shake. And to put you even more firmly in the holiday mood, the Beach Bar allows you to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the beach and the sea, whilst serving a wide range of drinks and light meals.

Facilities

The Hotel Calheta Beach invites you to adopt the slogan “Finally, time for myself”. With their convenient services and facilities, such as laundry, parking (extra charge) and easy access to the beach and sea, you’ll have the maximum amount of time to do just what you wish. 

And what better way is there to spend your time than to make use of the wellness facilities of the hotel? Keep in shape in the fully equipped gym and then relax in the heated indoor pool, the Jacuzzi, the sauna and the Turkish bath (all free of charge). And to take you into a new zone of indulgence, experience the relaxing massages and other therapies, such as those based on marine algae.

For some further relaxation, enjoy one of the large number of sun loungers around the Hotel’s swimming pools close to the beach. The hotel will also be pleased to assist you in arranging tours of the island and activities such as hikes along the beautiful lavadas and deep-sea fishing.

To keep connected you can access the internet on computers in the business centre at reception for free. There is also access to the internet in the public areas and rooms at an additional cost.
